Jasmine Young

Bio

Jasmine Young, M.Div., is a missiologist and teaching pastor whose work helps the evangelical church engage its mission faithfully within the complex cultural context in the U.S.

She completed her Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Bible Theology & Missions at Alliance Theological Seminary in New York, NY, where she received the Beth Kamphausen Award for scholarship, excellence in character, and commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With her graduate studies and her experience in domestic and diaspora missions, Jasmine’s work explores how the gospel shapes the church's discipleship, justice engagement, and faithful presence in local communities.

Jasmine is particularly committed to helping churches think clearly about justice engagement—not as a competing priority to evangelism, but as an integrated expression of the church’s mission and holistic witness. She serves the Metro District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) as its Kingdom Justice & Mercy Coordinator. Under the leadership of the district’s cabinet, she partners with pastoral leaders to refine the district’s position on biblical justice. In addition to her focus on justice engagement, Jasmine volunteers with Envision NYC, a missional arm of the C&MA, where she teaches English to West African migrant women and coordinates missional engagement across other volunteers. Jasmine's husband, Gabriel, studies Biblical and Theological Foundations (M.A.) at Asbury Theological Seminary.

As a missiologist, Jasmine studies and teaches how the church understands and lives out its calling across cultural, social, and relational boundaries. Her approach brings together biblical theology, cultural awareness, and lived ecclesial practice, equipping pastors and leaders to move from reactive engagement to intentional, gospel-shaped witness. Jasmine currently serves the church through preaching, teaching, leadership development, and partnership, working alongside pastors and ministry leaders who are navigating questions of justice, culture, and discipleship in a polarized, pluralized age. Her work is rooted in Scripture and shaped by a deep conviction that the local church remains God’s primary instrument for mission and renewal.

She is the host of The Vinecast®, a podcast dedicated to spiritual formation, biblical reflection, and thoughtful Christian engagement. Through conversations and teaching, the podcast invites listeners to cultivate a faith that is both deeply rooted and actively lived.

In addition to her ministry work, Jasmine brings professional experience in corporate governance and organizational leadership. This integrated vocational background informs her missiological perspective, allowing her to support churches and faith-based organizations with both theological clarity and practical wisdom.

Jasmine enjoys gardening, photojournalism, and cultivating spaces of learning and hospitality—practices that mirror her missional conviction that formation happens best through presence, patience, and care. She and Gabriel have been married for 14 years and have three children.
