Jasmine Young is a native of Augusta, Georgia, raised in the Deliverance Evangelistic Association Fellowship of churches (Augusta Deliverance). She studied Accounting at Savannah State University (Savannah, GA) and continued to grow in the faith after settling in New York to begin her career. She is a corporate finance executive at JPMorgan Chase & Co. having maintained an extensive career in Reporting and Corporate Governance while volunteering to develop cross-cultural allies in all managing levels of the employee base in the Office of the CFO.
As a co-vocational minister with a Pauline (apostolic) calling, Jasmine studies culture in diaspora communities as a contemporary missiologist. She completed her Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Bible Theology & Missions (Greek concentration) at Alliance Theological Seminary in New York, NY, where she received the Beth Kamphausen Award for scholarship, excellence in character, and commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jasmine's husband, Gabriel, studies Biblical and Theological Foundations (M.A.) at Asbury Theological Seminary. Jasmine and Gabriel have served the Runyon Heights community of Yonkers, NY in ministry at Faith Mission Christian Church for many years and are the 4th pastoral leaders of the ministry. The family continues their spiritual formation as members of Risen King Alliance Church (Christian & Missionary Alliance).
Jasmine takes a special interest in the church’s engagement with justice. Jasmine serves the Metro District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) as its Kingdom Justice & Mercy Coordinator. Under the leadership of the district’s cabinet, she partners with pastoral leaders to refine the district’s position on biblical justice. She encourages justice engagement in its local churches through direct outreach to district leaders, speaking engagements, and customized discipleship material on the subject. Jasmine has been accredited with the C&MA for ministry since 2021 and holds a provisional ministry license with the C&MA. In addition to her focus on justice engagement, Jasmine volunteers with Envision NYC, a missional arm of the C&MA, where she teaches English to West African migrant women and coordinates missional engagement across other volunteers. Jasmine hosts The Vinecast®, a podcast for adult Christian education.
Jasmine is a gardening enthusiast and amateur photojournalist. She is a member of Iota Phi Lambda Business & Professional Sorority and an active member of Tau Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Jasmine lives in the credo of good tidings of great joy. Jasmine and Gabriel reside in New York with their three children.
